~ SESSION 11 > SESSION 12 – (BRIEF RECAP) ~

Welcome back my friends!

========================================================

We began last session the very moment Jack woke up inside the tavern.
He was instantly made aware that during his time sleeping – (Or rather OVER sleeping)
The rest of his party grew tired of waiting for him, and headed back into the cathedral without him.

Jack got dressed and exited his room, to see a very empty tavern waiting for him down below… the only souls left in the building where Ogden and his wife, Garda.

Speaking hurriedly to Ogden, Jack was informed that indeed his comrades, old and new, had gone ahead without him, and had left the tavern a good 30 minutes prior to him showing his face.

Jack thanked Ogden, grabbed his backpack, and rushed out the door, his destination – the burial grounds gate, where en-route, he bumped into a strange shadowy figure, she was very curious, and peering in through the large open cathedral doors.
From a distance – Jack called to the figure, who turned out to be Tavi Kala, a young Rogue from the local Sisterhood.

Together they headed through the cathedral, passing by each of the floors, until they entered the level the others were currently exploring.

Jack led the way forward, and Tavi followed him… Their first stop after exiting the room, was a visit to a makeshift workshop, where Gharbad was busy smithing away at something metal, on top of his anvil.

Jack paused for a moment to stop and speak with Gharbad, and have a friendly chat – but, friendly is possibly the wrong word here.
That said, the goat-demon was not hostile at all, perhaps even docile, either way he was too busy in his work to think about fighting the adventurer.
During their exchange, it was clear that in Gharbad’s voice, there was an ounce of fear within the goat-demon, and that perhaps he felt threatened… that Jack might harm him… or even kill him.

Leaving the paranoid pink skinned goat-man alone to his devices, Jack and Tavi exited the room, and headed down a connecting passageway, which would eventually lead them to the others up ahead.

En-route to the rest of the party, Jack and Tavi had another encounter, but this time, it was with Snotspill.
They stopped for a BRIEF chat with him as they passed by, and by brief chat, I mean of course…. That the aggressive little blue skinned Fallen, shouted at them and threatened them with death, should they not do as he demanded of them.

Leaving Snotspill behind them, whilst still very confused, they both reached the rest of the party, and were greeted warmly… Not just Jack, but both of them were brought into the ranks of the party.

A few brief introductions were made, and a few barrels and crates were destroyed in the hopes of finding riches or equipment, and then it was time to move on.
As the party passed into a connecting passageway, they spoke of Snotspill, and mentioned “Big Uglies” that he wished for them to kill, and a “Magic Banner” that he demanded they return to him.

However – Deals made between Demons and Humans, seldom ended well.

Moving further along the passage, and turning the corner, the party saw another opening in the wall up ahead, Levi scouted forwards, and returned to the party with his findings.
Ebrin then moved to the front of the group, and stepped in line with the archway… which allowed him to peer into the room.

His focus was immediately set on the middle of the small room, where he saw mutilated bodies of Fallen, but, even worse than that, he saw what it was who made them that way…
But, it was too late…. they had already seen each other.

Four reddish hue, thick skinned demons with bull-like features, standing tall with long muscular legs, equipped with even bigger bulging muscular arms, and small black horns on their head, charged at Ebrin… As they did so, he blasted one of them with black lightning which erupted from his open palm.

Battle was inevitable, and although the enemy was new, somewhat imposing and relentless in their attacks, the party managed to best them, and slayed them all.

Searching the area after the fight revealed to the group a large wooden chest, it’s lid open slightly already, in which they found Ogden’s Tavern Sign.
They scooped up the sign, and treated themselves to the brief respite, of a short rest, before heading off again to investigate more of the fourth floor.

Leaving the room, and venturing further along the initial passageway, the party soon encountered a group of BURNING BONES – which were basically red boned skeletons, that radiated with a fiery enchantment.
They were led by a Skeletal Captain, who shared the same fiery magic within his bones.

Using a few spells of the colder variety though, which was the natural weakness of these creatures, the party managed to defeat the skeletons quickly – and without any trouble at all.

The Present Scene:

After the battle – the area and whatever was remaining of the bodies, were searched for loot, and anything else that could be useful to them.

With the searching concluded, the party now stand at the corner of a L shaped passageway, one with scorch marked flooring nestled at their feet, from where the Burning Bones were lurking.

Taking this time to gather their thoughts – they are deciding on their next move.
