Session ten into session eleven notes:
Ira, healed only to the point of no longer dying, awakens from her unconscious state, to go find Kash and Francis.
Desperate, she pleads with Kash to come help save their fellow party members, who she believes to be still laying on the floor in the Cold Plains…. but the corrupted rogues which they encountered, had other orders to follow.
Kash thinks for a moment, and comes to a conclusion that they both need help in the form of numbers, the enemy simply had more… and so Kash bravely headed to Kashya’s tent, where the captain of the rogues slept, and asks very bashfully for help.
However, a combination of the time of night, and the fact that she was tired, lead to Kash’s words going unheeded, and he would get no help from Kashya this night.
Unhappy about the outcome, Kash and Ira decide enough time had been spent trying to find help, and that none would come soon, Francis, was still deep in meditation, so it was up to Kash and Ira to go rescue the others.
Soon after heading back through the way point to the Cold Plains, they stumble upon a curious Paladin, who had traveled that way recently, saw the evidence of battle, and had moved to investigate… What he didn’t bet on though, was finding some new allies, who would tell him of their plight… Of course, for Honour and Justice sake, the Paladin could NOT turn down people in need of aid, and so agreed to help rescue the lost party members.
Taking a wrong turn, lead to a small fight with some fallen, but that fight was soon over, and through quickly backtracking, the party soon found themselves lead unknowingly into the lair of Blood Raven… where their friends had been moved to and were being held captive.
Upon reaching their lost party members, a third person other than Livia or Cade, was also found, tied and bound to a once glorious tree, which now has withered and looms over the graveyard… it’s figure was deformed, bark extremely blackened, spindly branches reach out well past the trunk, and it was obvious that the sickness of the land was taking hold strongly here.
The rescue attempt was somewhat successful, Cade and Scarlett, another Amazon found tied to the dead tree, were both found in a bad condition, but they were still alive, however Livia was already murdered by none other than Blood Raven… Her soul and blood had been drained from her corpse, by the use of dark and twisted necromantic powers, and now left as a heap on the floor, after the ropes were cut by Kash, in an attempt to free his companions.
With that done, and just as the now larger party begin to discuss things, Blood Raven appears to taunt and challenge everyone.
She waits for a while, exchanging words, before becoming annoyed at their attempts to talk her out of her devotion to the Demons, and then pulls out a blue mote of dancing energy, and within seconds crushes it within her grasp.
With this act – The soul of Livia was no longer free, it was now destroyed, and Blood Raven now controlled her corpse like a master puppeteer.
The battle begins soon after, neither side really gaining any ground at first, but the tricky Blood Raven, animates two corpses, one being a random buried body, bursting up from the ground, and the other being the corrupted, hideous and twisted form, of the once known Livia, who returns to battle to fight for the dark, and not the light.
We rejoin the fight from here on… and it’s Blood Ravens turn to unleash havoc once more on the weakened party.
