~ SESSION 25 > SESSION 26- (BRIEF RECAP) ~
Welcome back my friends!
========================================================
At the beginning of last session, we caught up with the party as they arose on the last day of an extended rest, only to hear whilst they tucked into their morning meals, a commotion happening outside amongst the other townfolk.
Leaving the Tavern – Levi conversed with a few of them and was informed about a mysterious sighting of a beast-like creature, lurking around the hills on the western side of town.
It’s purpose or origin unknown, and it semed to not want to venture too close, but more likely would rather stay in the rocky areas and pick off any stragglers that may pass by.
Both… Levi and Fulgrim agreed to go and investigate this sighting, and headed towards the direction the beast was last spotted, and upon reaching the wooden bridge, they were alerted to the shade like beast that they sought after -with it’s eyes reflecting any light source they were able to pick up.
Levi knocked and arrow onto his bow, and immediately took aim and loosed it towards the beastial shaded creature, and he misses it, but the attack was enough to drive the creature off into hiding…. For now, the town was safer.
Before returning to the town centre, a quick visit was paid to Wirt, who was unharmed and of course, looking to trade, but all he got was disappointment, and so rapidly dismissed both Fulgrim and Levi.
After returning to the middle of town, Levi went to wake up Norrec, who was prone to sleeping in, only he wasn’t in any room, he instead had fallen asleep in the hay bales at the rear of the building in the tavern yard.
Fulgrim paid a visit to Griswold, and upon completion of his trade, he moved to the Tavern area, and heard a loud shriek from Gillian, who had moved to stand over by her home.
He quickly moved over to Gillian, expecting to see the beast once more, and prepared himself to fight, as he beagn to investiagate the area.
Norrec took off to Adria’s hut, alone, obviously worried about the witch, what with the sighting of this beast, there may be more on the opposite side of town, and so went to check on her.
Meanwhile, Lyra had emmerged from the tavern, and was speaking with Deckard Cain about the tome she had found within the chamber of bone.
After seeing the book, Cains eyes widened, and he informed Lyra that the book was an ancient relic from his own order of mages, and that there was knowledge to be had from studying it, if she wished to learn it that was.
Following Cain from the fountain in the middle of town, and around one of the buildings to a more secluded area, where they wouldn’t be disturbed, Cain starts to divulge all the information, and power, that the pages of the tome holds, and delivers this information to Lyra, in agreement that once this was done, she handed the book over to Cain… A deal to which she fully agreed to honor.
Norrec had reached Adria’s hut, and all was well, she had not been harmed, and everything seemed as it normally was.
A sigh of relief came out from the mouth of Norrec, as he approached Adria.
He opened up with stating that he was happy that she was safe, and closed the conversation with a bit of flirtation… both of which was well received.
The beginning of a common ground friendship between them both was forming.
Norrec finished up his fly-by visit, and made his way back to the centre of town, but stopped nearer to the area where the town portal normally forms, as if it was anchored somehow to appear only at that location.
By now, the rest of the townsfolk had dispersed from the meeting, and normal services were able to resume.
Gillian however, had darted inside her home, and was now cowering in fear behind her partially closed front door, as Fulgrim moved closer to where she lived.
Levi saw him moving, and so curious to see where Fulgrim was headed, followed his companion.
Together – they managed to calme a frightened Gillian, and searched around the perimiter of her home… wihin minutes, they found what had frightened her so much… The ground it seemed, had been sundered close to her house, and a reddish light, with some heat, was starting to release from the opening, as if a HEAT VENT had formed somehow.
Eventually, all but Norrec sees the tear, and the party feel the best way to find out where the source of the crack was, would be back inside the labyrinthine passages below Tristram.
Meeting back up with Norrec, the party now combined, headed towards the Mausoleum, to take the secret stairway back to the catacombs, passing through known areas, until they reached the most recent floor they had NOT fully searched – and could go no further.
Making their way through the darkened passages, lit only by their own sources of light, and the odd burning torch scattered about, the party finally reached a large square room with no door, but inside it were a couple of VERY tempting bookcases, with yet more hidden knowledge of the ancient mage clans.
Norrec sprung to action, and searched the dead cultist body on the floor in the middle of the room, finding a few gold coins, as the others took the tomes from the bookshelves, and scrolls that were left on a small wooden table.
However – Hidden Demons awaiting the party, took offense to their looting, and decided to ambush the party, but not before Fulgrim pre-empted a spell to see invisibility, and could then see the locations of the sneaky stealthed creatures.
The battle commenced, as venom coated strikes came from seemingly nowhere, cleaving into the party and poisoning them all.
Eventually, the group of enemies were slain, and the party were free to investigate the room, and the body of the cultist – where they saw that he had greivous wounds, inflicted across his lower torso, and on the palm of his left hand was a symbol of the Cult of Diablo, carved into his flesh, with the tip of a blade.
With another six tomes within their inventory, the party were keen to head back to town, to learn what they could from them.

The Present Scene:
The party have stayed in town for a few hours, learning what they could from their new magical tomes.
Norrec has once more paid a visit to Adria, and found out that she has a knack for mixing potions, whilst experimenting leading to very different results.
For some, this is enough to label her “Witch”, but they look past the fact that her potions were very useful at curing ailments, back when the initial darkness fell upon the town.
Whilst the stay isn’t a long one, it allows the party to recover slightly, and gain new spell power, along with the possibility of repairing anything damaged, or recharging anything with their charges spent.
We catch up with the party, as they return to the tavern, all but Norrec of course, who is happily frequenting Adria’s abode once more… However, it’s nearly time to meet back and press onwards.
