Session 24 into session 25recap:

We joined our party last session, they having just defeated a group of Vile Hunters, found patrolling on a main road which skirted the heart of the Dark Woods.
Now, the party had time to scout a little, and headed towards a broken and abandoned church, which was once a resting place for weary travelers passing through the area, but has long fallen to ruin and has become a makeshift lair for Carver demons.

The party investigate the campsite, loot and kill all the demons that reside there, and find but a single chest to be opened, which Ophi takes care of…. carefully.

During the fight, a very valuable way point is found and activated by Xerxes, which allows the party swiftly travel to and from this area should they require it… and as this happened, an extremely loud Roar could be heard, bellowing across the night air.

Another little surprise was awaiting them all though, as Kester found out soon after he strayed a little further up the northern road… only to find a few Skeleton Archers along the way, who quickly take aim and fire upon him.

The party waste no time in vanquishing these skeletal enemies, and take anything of use from their bones, then they headed back to the campsite to witness on the way a grand tree… situated off to the most south-eastern side of the area, absolutely teeming with magical and spiritual energy, which shone a brilliant light up into the heavens, and covered the area around it in a strange aura.

However, as the party approach this spectacle of nature, they gain the attention of the tree guardians, stood at the base of it.
The fight is started by Scarlett, as she fires upon just one of the visible beasts, but little did they know, there were three more waiting on the opposite side of the tree.

Kester tries his best to entangle and slowly whittle the beasts down, but three manage to avoid his magics, and head directly towards the party, and close combat soon follows.
Francis is the first to be stuck in the clutches of one of these beasts, and unluckily for him, it was the biggest of the four of them.

Nix… Ophi’s dearest companion, was the next to suffer the wrath of these beasts, and perished from their heavy blows as they dealt damage to Ophi.

We rejoin here, just as the cold night air dissipates, what light there is to be had on the 6th day – returns, and combat gets a little more…. intense.
