~ SESSION 5 > SESSION 6 – (BRIEF RECAP) ~
Welcome back my friends, and a very happy new year to you all as we enter into 2026:

When last we met with the party, they were stood inside of the tavern, after having just finished a short rest in town.
As the party prepared to leave the establishment, Ogden beckoned to them from across the room, and Cornan moved over to him to see what he wanted.
He was quickly warned that King Leoric’s body had arisen and had been sighted moving around within his tomb, some three levels below the surface.
After the short conversation with Ogden, the party, only consisting of Lyra and Cornan, eagerly left the tavern without Dorian, who opted to remain a while and finish his meal before joining them later on.
Once back on inside the cathedral, and onto the second floor down, Lyra and Cornan both headed past the room with the Butcher inside of it, and quietly sneaked around and down the adjoining corridor, which they could instantly see a group of Zombies lurking around the end of the passageway.
Opting to engage with the group instead of trying to sneak past quietly, the Zombies were soon under attack from a barrage of arrows and cold spells.
During the midst of the fight, Lyra managed to become surrounded by her foes, and was grappled, in a blind panic she managed to hurt herself with her unstable magic, and summoned a powerful ally in the process.
Through sheer luck and randomness, she managed to call to Sanctuary a mythical beast – it was a Unicorn by the name of Star, and she aided Lyra and Cornan after a brief moment of bonding.
Together, they brought down the undead that outnumbered them, and searched the inanimate bodies on the ground.
There were also a few stone coffins that lined the edge of one wall to the passage, which were also checked…. All but one.
Collecting what loot they could find, Lyra, Cornan and Star, found the stairs down to floor three, at the end of the hallway, and proceeded down to the next floor without a moment of pause.
Once there, they left the first room they stepped into via an adjoining door towards the far side of the room, and stepped into a second room with a hall attached to it.
Looking around the party saw a lectern with a closed tome resting atop it, and a few breakable barrels lining one wall.
As they moved further to investigate, a group of bat-like demons descended from the ceiling, and set upon them.
Though they were small and weak, they were also very agile and tough to hit when in full flight.
However, with the aid of Star – Cornan and Lyra managed to defeat the group of flying foes.
Just as the final creature fell and the combat was over, they both watched as the power holding Star to the realm of sanctuary had all but diminished, and soon after their new friend faded away from existence, back to her own realm.
Cornan and Lyra stood for a moment, and shared an emotional goodbye with their temporary companion, who had done so much for them.
At that moment, they could hear heavy footsteps coming down the stairway behind them from the first room, and turned to see who or what was approaching them.
